Spring Projects and another Luncheon

I'm in "luncheon" mode at my house this week, as I'm helping hostess a bridal luncheon at my house this Saturday.  The luncheons are A LOT of work, but it's all worth it when the bride-to-be is glowing and everyone is happy.  I've done luncheons before (you can see the floral arrangements I did for one on this prior post) so I have the "when to start the rice and chicken and everything else" down to a science.  I could probably do this in my sleep I've done so many.

Now, if my house would just clean itself, everything would be under control.  HA!

The weather here has been a tad "off" this week, but it's still Spring in my book so I'm trying to think up some spring projects for me to do! HA! (as if I need to add one more thing to my list).  I'd really like to

  • clean out the shed
  • redecorate my bathroom (or at least change a few things about it)
  • have my bedroom comforter cleaned
  • work on a household binder
Do any of you have any spring projects on your list?

Busy, Busy

My house is BUSY, BUSY right now, as evidenced by my February calendar!

Meetings, baseball practices, and photography take up a lot of my time, so I have to be SUPER organized.  My Erin Condren calendar is literally with me at ALL times.  I am thinking about doing a household binder as well like I've seen on so many blogs lately.

Do any of you have a household binder?  Do you recommend them, even if you use a calendar?

Disney Day 3

If you missed the beginning part of our trip, as I posted it in Disney Day 1 and Disney Day 2, you may want to read those to catch you up to Day 3.

On Day 3 (our last day at Disney), we ate breakfast, then decided a quick trip to Animal Kingdom was in order.  Carter wanted to ride one of the roller coasters and I wanted to do a ride or two as well.

Isn't this beautiful?!?!  I just can't get enough of this scenery on one of the rides at Animal Kingdom!  They even have a hotel (Animal Kingdom Lodge) that you can stay at and this view is from your balcony!  We've never stayed there, but it's for sure on my bucket list!

After a nice, quick lunch, we decided to say our goodbyes to Disney and head home and back to the real world!

Thanks for coming along on our three-day tour! HA!

Disney Day 2

After a good night's sleep from our Disney Day 1, we woke up rarin' to go Saturday morning and decided to head to Epcot.  I had a few fast passes to use and we wanted to try the new Test Track and ride Soarin'.

Usually when we go to Epcot, we just ride rides in the "front" part and never venture to the countries.  This time, however, we went to Mexico and Norway!  There is a cute boatride through Mexico and a place to buy authentic items as you depart the ride.  Look at these beautiful boxes, piggy banks, etc.!

The detail is amazing and beautiful!
It happened to be that Nolan's class was studying culture the week following our trip so I was able to send his teacher some photos of other cultures!

Earlier in the week, I was emailing with a friend of mine, Annie, and we figured out we were not only going to be at Disney at the same time, but the same parks at the same time AND we ended up at the same hotel!  Isn't THAT something?!?!  HA!  She and her husband have two little girls who are just precious.  We met them Saturday at Disney's Hollywood Studios (which I still call MGM) and we enjoyed a few rides together and the parade!

Annie had not yet ridden the Star Tours ride and my Nolan is a pro, so he and Mrs. Annie hauled off to ride that while I walked their youngest in her stroller for a nap.  We went our separate ways after a few minutes and then met back up for the parade!  The kids had a good time watching the parade together!
We actually saw some characters that we'd never seen before while at Disney and that was FUN!

After the parade, we left Hollywood Studios and after a few transportation changes (bus and boat) we went to eat at Fort Wilderness.  It was such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks and just what the four of us needed !   After dinner, we moseyed back to our hotel and rested up for our last day of Disney....(coming tomorrow)

Disney Day 1

We took a quick trip to Disney at the end of January because we knew it would be the last time for MONTHS that we would all be able to go as a family since baseball is starting and planting season is beginning for Cecil.

We arrived on Friday afternoon, checked in our hotel, then immediately headed for the Magic Kingdom!  It's kind of hard to see, but different images were flashing on the castle with the music from the Disney movie they were from.  It was the first time I had seen this done.
Of course, Disney does fireworks RIGHT.  We saw beautiful fireworks over Cinderella's Castle and they were just perfect!  I love this photo because you can see the fireworks and the castle!

After the fireworks, we decided to head back to the hotel because we had a long day with school, work, etc. and we all were ready for bed!

More Disney ahead so stay tuned....

My Valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day!

It was low-key around our house!  I got the boys a TINY bit of candy and some Gatorade energy chews (don't judge, ha!) and an ADORABLE turquoise mini mailbox from the Target dollar bin.  I put a little something inside their mailbox and put the flag up so they would get their Valentine's mail when they woke up this morning!

We have baseball stuff tonight, but otherwise, I'll be in the kitchen making a sweet treat for Nolan's class tomorrow!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
