target
.50 CENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s how:

Target has the cleaner on sale for 1.37 and I had a 1.00 coupon.

The Finish tablets were 2.50, but I had a 1.50 target coupon and a 1.00 manufacturer coupon, so that was FREE.

The dental floss was .99 and I had a 1.00 Target coupon, making it FREE as well.

The ibuprofen is 1.09 and I had a 1.00 Target coupon for that, making it only .09cents.

I took my own bag in, and got a .05cents rebate, bringing my grand total to .50cents.

Happy SHOPPING!

.20 cents

.20 cents doesn’t normally get you a whole lot these days.  It did get me a lot though a few days ago!

Target had Finish Gelpacs (yes, I spelled that correctly) on sale for $2.50 and I had a $2.25 coupon.  Take off the .05c that Target gives you back when you use your own bag (don’t worry, mine was a Tractor Supply Bag cause I have to support Ag too) and I paid all of TWENTY CENTS for this:

I’ve used them already and I LOVE THEM!

Worry

Y'all haven't heard much from me lately.  I've always said that I don't normally put "the business" on the blog but the truth is, I'm under attack.  I'm a worrier.  I've always been a worrier.  I am a complete control freak so when there are things outside my control, it WORRIES me.

I've been consumed lately with WORRY and STRESS.  There are a few circumstances in our lives right now that are less than perfect and the trials we're going through right now are STRESSFUL.

A verse that keeps making itself known to my head and heart is,

".......Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"  Matthew 6:25-27

I know that my help comes from the ONE who has ALL the answers to my worry and stress!

"I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2

I covet your prayers and thoughts in this most stressful time!

Happy Birthday!

Saturday was Cecil's birthday--we had BIG plans for the day that had nothing to do with his birthday (post to follow in a few days).

Before we left for our BIG trip, Cecil opened his presents.

It nearly killed me to buy a book with a Seminole on the front, but since it was the message of the book I was going for, I did break down and buy it.  ha!
Cecil had asked for a new Bible last year sometime, but he's picky about the style and type of his Bible, so it took me some time to find exactly what he wanted.  He HAS to have King James Version (which makes me crazy cause I can barely understand all the thee's and thou's).  He also has to have a thin Bible.  He doesn't like a big, thick one.
He looks a little "special" in this picture, but he was very, very SICK.  I promise.  On the Bible.  (sorry--couldn't help it)
Happy Birthday Cecil!

Robot

As a Science project (I think it was Science), Nolan had to make a robot out of materials we had on hand.  Not only did they have to make it, they had to name it and tell their classmates something about the robot.  I am not quite sure what Nolan named his robot, but I know he wanted his robot to do his homework for him (there's a shocker).

Our robot was made out of tomato paste cans, a Magic Eraser box, a Wheat Thins box, toilet paper rolls, and tomato sauce cans.  Nolan did really well with helping.  He spray painted most of it, did the eyes, nose, mouth, heart, etc. and held items on while Cecil glued it (it was Super Glue, so I was not about to let him do that part on his own).

As you can tell, he is "so over" the picture taking stage.

Valentine's candy & Treats for Teachers

I am late in posting this but I wanted to show you what I got for $1.00 AND what I did for the boys' teachers this year.

Since apparently "no one gives only cards" anymore (or so I'm told by my boys), they begged me for something like a lollipop or piece of candy to go with their Valentine's cards.  I hate buying stuff like that because it's so expensive, but I did happen to see that Target had SweeTarts lollipops on sale for $2 and I had a $1 coupon so that made these sweet bags of lollipops only $1.00.  Now THAT I was willing to pay for!

I treasure both my boys' teachers!  They are gems!  I wanted to do a little something special for them, so I decided to make brownies for them in the shape of hearts.  I thought I had a heart shaped pan, but I didn't, so out came the heart-shaped cookie cutter!

I had some adorable "old-fashioned" looking Valentine's Day bags, so I put several of the brownies in a bag and tied it up for each teacher, along with a heart-note!

I was thinking it was rather cute!

Hope you had a great Valentine's Day!

it’s TAX time

Yuck.  I shudder every year when December 31 rolls around because I know for us it means TAX time.  Because we don’t pay quarterly taxes on the farm, it means anything we owe good ‘ol Uncle Sam is due by March 1.  THIS means on January 1, we have to start gathering up receipts, organizing, sorting, and adding up numbers.

It’s BAD y’all.  Real BAD.  This is what my table usually looks like for a solid week while we’re adding up and looking for digits!

Suffice to say, I’ll be glad when we finish this up (hopefully tonight) and deliver it to our accountant.
